ACCESSIBILITY
Regulation is committed to creating a space that is welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to everyone. If there’s anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable—whether for a 1:1 session or an event—please reach out in advance. If you need accommodations beyond what’s listed here, let us know. We are always working to improve equitable access.
Venue Accessibility
Because we don’t have a permanent location, our classes and events take place in different venues, which means accessibility varies. Some locations are wheelchair accessible, while others may have stairs or other barriers.
If you need an accessible location, please reach out before attending an event or booking a session, and I’ll do my best to find a space that works for you.
Mobility and Seating Options
- Classes: If you need a chair instead of sitting on the floor, just let us know! We’ll do our best to ensure a comfortable option is available.
- Solo Session Options: We offer two options for individual breathwork and sound sessions:
- A height-adjustable massage table (rated for up to 600 lbs) for those who prefer not to get up and down from the floor.
- A yoga mat on the floor, with a variety of blankets and pillows for support, for those who feel more grounded in that position.
Let us know what works best for you!
Neurodivergent-Inclusive Space
As a neurodivergent facilitator, I deeply understand the unique needs that can arise in these sessions. This is a safe, flexible, and judgment-free space where you will never be asked to do something you’re uncomfortable with.
Whether you need:
- A less intense experience
- More time to process
- Space to move or adjust positions
- Support with getting the practice right
- A walkthrough of what to expect before an event
Just let us know! This work is important for us, and we want to support you in whatever way you need.
Sensory-Friendly Environment
We strive to make sessions as comfortable as possible. By default:
- Lighting is dim.
- Music will be playing (I can adjust volume as needed).
- Blankets of different weights and textures are available.
- Hand fans are available for temperature regulation.
- Eye masks are available for purchase if you forget yours.
- If a Squishmallow would help—just say the word!
Scent & Fragrance Sensitivity
We aim to keep our spaces low-fragrance whenever possible. However, some venues may use essential oils or scented products. If you are sensitive to scents, let us know, and we’ll do our best to create a comfortable space for you.
Communication Accessibility
We understand that not everyone prefers verbal communication and want to ensure a smooth, stress-free experience.
- Text-Based Options: You are welcome to communicate via text, email, or messaging instead of phone calls.
- Voice-Free Check-In: If you prefer to skip verbal check-ins, let us know in advance, and we can set you up with an option to check in via app without speaking.
Assistive Technology & Printed Materials
If having printed materials, captions, or other assistive tools would improve your experience at an event or session, please let us know in advance. We will do our best to provide them!
Sliding Scale & Barter Options
We believe wellness should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. If cost is a barrier, we offer sliding scale pricing and barter options to help make sessions and classes more affordable.
How It Works
- Sliding Scale: If a class or session is out of reach financially, message tami@regulation.works and let us know. We have flexible options available.
- Barter: We offer the opportunity to trade help around the studio in exchange for classes. Tasks may include cleaning, organizing, helping with setup, or assisting at events. If this feels like a good fit for you, reach out and we’ll work something out!
If you’re interested in either sliding scale or barter, please get in touch so we can find a solution that works for both of us.
Restrooms
Because we use different venues, restroom accessibility varies. Some locations have gender-neutral, accessible restrooms, while others may not. If this is a concern, feel free to ask about a specific location before attending an event.
Website Accessibility
We are actively working to improve the website to meet current accessibility standards. Many WordPress themes are not 100% compliant out of the box, but we are making updates as quickly as possible.
If you run into any accessibility issues on the site, please reach out, and we’ll assist however we can.
Service Animals
Trained service animals are welcome at all 1:1 sessions and events!
If you’re bringing a service animal to a 1:1 session, let us know in advance so we can ensure they have a comfortable space with water, a bed, or anything else they might need.
Sound Sensitivity for Service Animals
Some live events involve:
- Vigorous drumming to keep tempo
- Moderately loud atmospheric music
If your service animal may be sensitive to sound, we’re happy to provide details in advance so you can plan accordingly.
